Growing with All-In-One Bags
A step-by-step guide to successfully cultivating mushrooms from start to finish using the most beginner-friendly method.
Inoculation
Inject spore or liquid culture into the sterilized bag via the self-healing port.
Always sanitize the injection port and your needle with 70% isopropyl alcohol to prevent contamination.
Initial Growth
Place in a dark, warm spot and wait for the first signs of white mycelium to appear.
Keep the bag between 75-80°F. Mycelium loves warmth and darkness at this stage.
Break & Shake
At 25% colonization, break up the mycelium clumps and mix thoroughly with the substrate.
Mixing evenly ensures the mycelium can jump to new food sources quickly.
Consolidation
Wait for the mycelium to fully reclaim the bag until it is completely white and solid.
Do not open the bag yet. High CO2 is good for this phase of growth.
Fruiting
Introduce ambient light for 12 hours a day. Fresh air exchange is now vital.
Indirect sunlight signals to the mycelium where to grow the mushrooms.
Pinning Phase
Watch for primordia (pins) forming on the surface, usually within 1 to 2 weeks.
Humidity is key here. High moisture levels encourage pins to turn into mushrooms.
The Harvest
Carefully pick your mushrooms once the caps expand but before spores are dropped.
Twist and pull gently at the base to minimize damage to the substrate.
Success!
Follow these steps for a bountiful mushroom harvest. Happy growing!
Note: Total time typically ranges from 4 to 8 weeks depending on genetics and ambient conditions.
