Rooted in mycology.
Built for growers.

Our story didn't start in a boardroom; it started in the woods and the lab. With 25 years of hands-on experience in mushroom cultivation, we’ve spent decades navigating the nuances of substrates, cultures, and climate control. We’ve made the mistakes so you don’t have to, refining our techniques through a literal lifetime of trial and error.

That Mushroom was born out of a desire to take those years of expertise and provide the community with the high-quality, reliable supplies we wished we had when we started.

We are a family-owned and operated business. When you support us, you aren’t just buying supplies; you’re supporting a local North Carolina family dedicated to the craft. We pride ourselves on a personal touch, ensuring that every bag, syringe, and piece of equipment that leaves our shop meets the standards of a grower who has been in the trenches for two and a half decades.

Mycology is more than just a hobby, it’s a way to connect with nature, provide sustainable food, and explore the wonders of biology. Our mission is to provide:

• Premium Quality: We only sell what we use in our own grows.

• Deep Expertise: Our products are backed by 25 years of technical knowledge.

• Local Integrity: Proudly serving the Morganton, Hickory, and Valdese areas (and beyond!) with honesty and care.

Whether you are looking to start your first batch of oyster mushrooms or scaling up a gourmet farm, we’re here to provide the foundation for your success.

Thanks for being part of our journey.
